As co-founder and Director of McLaren’s Raw Hire, Sean has spent the past 14 years growing the company’s fleet from one four-wheel-drive to more than 1000 specialised and fully-customised trucks, buses, cars and more. A welder by trade, Sean recognised there was a need in Western Australia’s Pilbara region for appropriately equipped vehicles, particularly for companies involved in the state’s thriving resources industry.

In 1998, Sean and wife Lisa began renting out a Toyota Landcruiser fitted with welding equipment from the caravan park they were living in. As directors, Sean and Lisa have grown the company, now boasting the north-west’s most extensive vehicle rental fleet, two Pilbara branches, an airport facility and a corporate office in Perth.

In 2012, Sean also led the company through an extremely successful re-brand over just nine months. This followed a decision to broaden the company’s offering to meet local demand for heavier equipment including water carts and four-wheel-drive buses. Sean was a WA Business News 40under40 Business Awards winner in 2010 and lives in Karratha, where he prides himself on taking a hands-on approach to running McLaren’s Raw Hire.
