Toyota WA’s new distribution facility in Kewdale marks a significant step forward for Western Australia’s automotive industry. Purpose-built, highly automated and more than three times larger than the previous site at over 20,000m², it is already being recognised as one of the most advanced logistics hubs in the region.
This week, Sean Clarke, Managing Director at Raw Hire, toured the facility for a behind-the-scenes look at the sophisticated systems supporting Toyota’s vehicle and parts operations. For Raw Hire, the visit reinforced the strength of our long-standing partnership with Toyota WA, a relationship built on reliability, shared values and a commitment to supplying well-supported fleet vehicles across the state.
The investment also honours the legacy of the late Stan Perron, whose vision established Toyota WA’s distribution presence more than 60 years ago. His commitment to quality continues to shape Toyota WA’s growth, including this state-of-the-art facility.
Inside the new site, Toyota WA has implemented advanced automation and high-efficiency warehousing systems, including:
- AGV-assisted automation to move goods throughout the warehouse
- A partnership with Vanderlande to deploy the ADAPTO storage and retrieval system
- 70% of all parts managed through ADAPTO’s smart storage
- Over 31,000 totes in circulation
- Daily stock dispatch to Toyota dealers across metro and regional WA
- Weekly intake of 25 shipping containers and 15 local truck deliveries
These upgrades support a major uplift in accuracy, efficiency for Raw Hire that depend on consistent access to well-supported Toyota fleet vehicles. This includes the brand-new Toyota Hilux, which will be joining the Raw Hire fleet in early 2026.
As Toyota WA expands its operational capability, Raw Hire looks forward to continuing to deliver high-quality mine-spec and commercial fleet vehicles to clients across mining, construction, civil and industrial sectors, backed by a robust parts network and world-class infrastructure here in Western Australia.
